CertNext - Creating IT Futures

Building Soft Skills in Hard-Skilled Tech Workers

Employers of IT talent—in all industry verticals—consistently point to a job candidate’s professional “soft” skills as key to hiring and advancing in pay and promotions.

We’re creating a series of classroom-based training courses to help certified IT workers move into new IT jobs and up the career ladder.

In our two-week PrepareU course, students will learn how to: develop a personal brand and 60-second pitch; perfect their resume and interviewing skills; work within a team and deal with difficult colleagues; be more persuasive; increase their perceived value as a worker; and much more.

In our eight-week Project Essentials course, students work toward CompTIA Project+ certification and how to lead projects with confidence and to complete projects on time and within budget.

Students for CertNext courses must hold one or more IT certifications (preference given to CompTIA certifications), have a degree in IT, and/or be enrolled in IT training.

Creating IT Futures

A 501(c)(3) charity was established in 1998 by CompTIA, the Information Technology Industry Trade Association, as a way to help people improve their lives through IT careers.

We help populations that are under-represented in IT and individuals who are lacking in opportunity to prepare for, secure and be successful in IT careers.
