Early College STEM Schools - Creating IT Futures

Early College STEM Schools

Connect Students to Employers

We encourage teens to pursue IT careers by exposing them to hands-on experiences.

Powered by the IL Tech Learning Exchange, we work with Chicago Public Schools’ Early College STEM Schools that allow high school students to simultaneously secure their diplomas, associate’s degrees and IT industry certifications, while gaining industry mentorship and experience.

Each summer, 100+ students across five Chicago Public Schools' Early College STEM Schools participate in paid, skills-based internships, gaining valuable business and career experience. Watch a short video summarizing the ECSS internship experience. Plus, check out the “shout-outs” from the students to their teachers and employers, and see some of the video and web work the students accomplished during the summer.

With funding from the Chicagoland Workforce Funder Alliance (CWFA), we collaborate with employers to connect them with students for internships, mentoring, school visits, classroom projects and speaking opportunities.

We’re helping equip students with the skills they need to pursue careers within a technology-driven workforce and to accelerate their readiness for 21st century careers.
