Are You Ready for IT-Ready?
If you’re eager and motivated to change the direction of your career – for the better – IT-Ready just might be calling your name.
IT-Ready is an on-ramp to a successful career in information technology. We offer education, training and job placement for qualifying unemployed and under-employed adults who enjoy and are comfortable using technology, but who lack formal job experience in the IT field.
With limited classroom space – and overwhelming demand – IT-Ready must be deliberate in its selection process, choosing motivated and interested candidates who are committed to success.
The application process starts with these questions:
- Do you live in near an IT-Ready class location?
- Are you at least 18 years old?
- Are you a U.S. citizen or legal immigrant?
- Can you demonstrate financial need?
- Are you a high school graduate or do you have a GED?
- Do you have access to a computer with Internet connection?
- Can you commit to eight weeks of unpaid training, followed by a six-month paid on-the-job experience with an employer?
If you answered “yes” to these questions, we encourage you to apply
IT-Ready is committed to helping every one of its students learn, grow and succeed. We expect the same level of commitment from you.
We expect students to be on time, every day, during the eight-week classroom experience that runs Monday through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Being late or skipping class is not an option – the program allows only one excused absence and two excused tardies.
Students should dress for class as they would dress for the position to which they aspire, wearing appropriate “business casual” attire.
During class time, students should pay attention and participate – asking questions, trying hard and listening respectively to others. We’ve discovered that participants tend to develop tight-knit study groups that support and encourage each other.
In short, we want you to be as committed to your success as we are.
